The Vagrants Show at BB Kings along with Vanilla Fudge was certainly a blast from the past. Thank God the Music is keeping us all alive and well so so hottttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peter - Thanks for the invite to see you play again at B.B.King's Blues Club Aug 9th. The band was tight and your voice was hypnotic, the performance was a blast from the past! Just brought me right back 40 years as if no time passed at all. Simply Timeless! It was truly thrilling to once again experience the sound of The Vagrants. It was such an integral part of the 60's soundtrack, especially those of us from the New York area, who were always so proud to claim the Vagrants as our own. The rush felt at hearing Sunny Summer Rain, Beside the Sea, and Exodus played again after all this time, didn't diminish one iota. Congratulations on a wonderful performance. It was nice to meet the band members, great show!

Back in the 60's on LI it seemed like either the Vagrants or Rascals (or both) opened for just about every big name act that performed, until they became the big names themselves. The Vagrants were probably the best band to have never released an album. But they did put out a number of singles. I think I have 3 or 4 of them in a shoebox somewhere with all my other 45s. My best recollection was the Vagrants appearing at the old Island Garden Arena in West Hempstead, along with the Rascals & the Vanilla Fudge, as well as the 1st public appearance of some strange guy named Tiny Tim. Talk about a weird line-up. He & his uke lasted only a few minutes before he got booed off the stage while getting barraged with garbage. My favorite Vagrants memories include their kick-ass version of 'If I Was a Carpenter'. They sure rocked my young socks off. Thanks guys for some great memories.
