Peter first met Jerry Storch and Roger Mansour while attending Forest Hills High School. They had all been called into the principal's office to be lectured on their unusually long hair. Peter, the quiet one of the group, is considered the best looking by the others and the one the girls flip over.
Besides singing, Peter plays the harmonica and one of the wildest tamborines around. He actually twirls it and tosses it into space without missing a beat. His jumping, girating and almost dance like movements on stage are a great part of the visual appeal the Vagrants have.
