and the one who exercises the most influence over the others. Leslie worked as a jewler until he joined the Vagrants.

Definitely the most blunt, strongly outspoken, often to a fault, people often come away with the impression that he doesn't like them. Not true. He just doesn't like to show his feelings and covers them with a sharp tongue. And no matter what he says, he's easily hurt and very sensitive. At the moment, he claims he will never marry.
Whether it's the backup to a slow ballad or a frantic paced up tempo number, Leslie West is cool and calm and possesses a remarkable ability to make the most difficult guitar pieces seem easy. Leslie leads on several vocals that the Vagrants do. His gruff sound has its own particular appeal.
